On August 21, 2017, we were treated with the amazing opportunity of having a total solar eclipse literally pass over our house!

So what did we do? We invited our friends and family, to witness this event with us!

For me personally, I woke up that morning with a wired excitement, which only grew as the day went on. Watching the moon slowly cover the sun was completely surreal. You couldn’t tell any difference in the brightness at first, but half way through the partial eclipse you could feel the drop in temperature and overall brightness.

But when totality began, nothing, and I mean nothing could prepare you for the experience of seeing the sky go black in the middle of the day. Instead of seeing the sun, a black hole stood in its place, with a radiant white corona and red solar flares.

The moment we all saw it, there was a collective shout. It gave me shivers to see it! I can definitely say it was the most amazing thing I’ve ever witnessed in creation.

When the next one happens on April 8, 2024, we’ll be sure to travel and see it!
