Visiting the Great-Grandparents

Last month, we headed to Florida for a week long visit to see Isaac and Aliyah’s great-grandparents, Mamaw and Grandpa. It’s been many years since I’ve been back in Florida, and the kids have never been there, so everyone was looking forward to the trip.

As much as I enjoyed spending time with my grandparents, I loved seeing my kids spending a week with their great-grandparents even more! It was surreal seeing Isaac banging away on the very same piano that I used to play when I was his age. And while he played, there was Grandpa, sitting there, enjoying his great-grandchild. It felt like I was watching myself as a child. It’s a wonderful memory I’ll never forget.
