I have always enjoyed escalators, both aesthetically and functionally. So recently while in Sears with my trusty manual Leica IIIf film camera, I took this photo. Shooting with film is always an adventure, because you never quite know how the end result will look. Hopefully in the next month or so I will be able to invest in a decent film scanner, that way I’ll be able to shoot more film, without it costing me as much.
You've helped me to realise another photographic fascination of mine… top-down views! I love that indescribable 'film' feel. Any post-pro here?
— «XLV»This reminds me of a recent purchase that's taken so long to arrive so far that I'd forgotten about it! A Holga plastic lens body cap for my 400D. I'm really looking forward to getting some wonderful Holga-style images with qualities similar to those of film. Another eye-opening post, Jay. Great stuff.
Pretty nice site, wants to see much more on it! :)
— John WilliamsWhoa - for a moment I couldn't even tell what that was because the tile floor reminds me so much of our tile kitchen counter top (yeah, we need a new counter top). Very interesting though - you would probably like photographing the escalator at the Cultural Arts Center in Gadsden.
